Nooteboom Group in Wijchen named 'Company of the Year'

Koninklijke Nooteboom Group is the winner in the category ‘Large Companies’. Managing Director Marc de Leeuw accepted the award on behalf of all the employees of the Nooteboom Group (Nooteboom Trailers, Floor Trailers, Kennis Trailers, NFTS Trailer Service and NTOS Trailer & Truck Centre) and stressed that he would prefer the name ‘Enterprise’ of the year. "We are one of the major employers in Wijchen and also contract out a great deal of work in the region. We consider it extremely important to have a good relationship with the council, especially with regard to the growth of Nooteboom, such as the recent acquisitions and planned expansion at Bijsterhuizen."
Nooteboom is a member of the Industriële Kring Nijmegen, a platform many large companies from the region serve on. Nooteboom is also active within B4YOU and Technovium, platforms engaged in the recruitment of technical personnel and how to retain them.

The judges mention in their motivation, among other things, Nooteboom's ‘forward-looking and innovative approach." Marc de Leeuw says: "Nooteboom is indeed innovative on a number of fronts. First of all, we create a good environment for our employees, offering everyone the opportunity for optimal development. We also implement an innovative production process, the so-called Lean production system, which aims to eliminate waste of any kind and to improve the product quality. This is how we want to increase the profitability of the company and sustain the opportunities for employment in the Netherlands and in Wijchen in particular. Furthermore, Nooteboom is innovative in their products and services; our clients benefit from this and use it to increase their profitability. Nooteboom wants to be the trendsetter on all these fronts."

What was the reaction to this enterprise award within the organisation and management?
"We are absolutely delighted with this award ", he says. ”The award is not for me as Managing Director of the Nooteboom Group; it is for all the employees within the Nooteboom Group. It’s an important token of appreciation for what Nooteboom has achieved over the last few years. It shows that our policies attract attention and are appreciated, both inside and outside the organisation.
We have given the award a great deal of publicity, especially within the Nooteboom organisation. The local media have also given it plenty of attention.
