History
Nooteboom Trailers was established in 1881 in the village of Kethel, a stone’s throw from Rotterdam. Nooteboom started out as a smithy but over the years began to specialize in the production of road transport vehicles. The introduction by Nooteboom in 1953 of the swing axle low-loader was in many ways an important turning point in Nooteboom history.

This innovative transport solution, in those days the last word in low-loader technology, was the first step in the sector where Nooteboom was to become specialist and market leader: ‘abnormal road transport’. Since the seventies Nooteboom has been domiciled in Wijchen, near Nijmegen.
The Nooteboom Group has experienced enormous growth and the company premises now cover an area of around 100.000m2 with facilities in Wijchen, Nijkerk and Medias, Romania. Altogether 350 people are employed in the head office and factory of Nooteboom Trailers B.V. in Wijchen, achieving a turnover of more than 100 million Euros. Customer satisfaction, transport innovation and the lowest possible transport operating costs are the prime considerations at Nooteboom Trailers.
